In deze jobs, worden vrouwen meer blootgesteld aan risico&#8217;s, krijgen ze weinig steun van hun collega&#8217;s en hebben ze relatief weinig autonomie over hun manier van werken. Naar aanleiding van de Internationale Vrouwendag op 8 maart, benadrukt UN Women het belang van investeren in vrouwen, en heeft EU-OSHA een nota gepubliceerd over de genderdimensie van telewerken.
